Ron Paul Republican Debra Medina needs our help to get at the truth!
“KERA (a PBS TV station) is buckling to demands by the governor (Rick Perry) that unless he’s on the stage exclusively with Kay, he’s not going to be there,” Medina told the Star-Telegram.

Public television station KERA TV/Channel 13 has already invited both Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Governor Rick Perry to attend their big “Texas sized” debate on January 13th; and both candidates have accepted.
But thus far the PBS television station has completely excluded Debra Medina, seemingly out of fear that the Governor would back out and ruin their huge event.
As such, we need polite supporters of Debra Medina to contact both KERA TV and Rick Perry’s campaign office to request a firm statement of support for Debra Medina’s inclusion in the January KERA PBS Debate of Republican candidates running for Texas Governor.

Thankfully Senator Hutchinson’s campaign has already issued a statement asking that Debra Medina be included in the Republican debates. In fact the Senator has issued a challenge to Governor Perry demanding that his campaign make a firm statement supporting the inclusion of Debra Medina in the debates by stating…
***********************************
“ Austin, TX – Today, Texans for Kay Campaign Manager Terry Sullivan issued the following statement regarding January’s KERA debate:
‘We welcome Debra Medina’s participation in January’s scheduled debate and hope she will be a part of all future debates. Rick Perry should stop stonewalling and immediately drop his opposition to Debra Medina’s involvement. Kay Bailey Hutchinson looks forward to January’s debate and sharing her vision for keeping Texas strong by creating jobs, strengthening education, fixing transportation, securing the border and keeping taxes low.’ ” http://texans.forkay.com/news/12-9-09_Statement_On_Debra_Medina_Involvement_In_The_Debates

Still according to Sarah Walker ( swalker@kera.org ) at KERA, the PBS television station has not made a final decision and by default seeks to exclude Debra Medina. So again, please be polite as you make contact to help us pursue the truth of this matter.
KERA TV is insisting that they have put in place the following three (3) criteria for candidates to be included in the debate. These make for good talking points….
=================================
From KERA/PBS TV…
1. A candidate must have met all legal qualifications required by the State of Texas to appear on the ballot and be eligible for office.
***CONDITION MET see Dallas Morning News – Tea party activist Debra Medina files for governor
http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/12/tea-party-activist-debra-medin.html (there IS a typo, “debra-medin,” in this link… DON’T correct it).
2. A candidate must be actively campaigning for election in the jurisdiction he or she is seeking to represent. To meet the definition of an active campaign, a candidate would need to establish a campaign headquarters with a paid and/or volunteer staff; generate public interest, such as being invited to speak at public gatherings and obtaining monetary contributions; and have a campaign that would be sufficiently newsworthy to warrant coverage by the media.
***CONDITION MET see Campaign List of Events
http://www.medinafortexas.com/events.php
3. Polls are a measure of voter interest. If a candidate receives a minimum of a 6% rating in an established, nonpartisan poll or an average of established, nonpartisan polls, the candidate will be presumed to be newsworthy. Voter interest may also be measured by the amount of votes cast for a candidate, and so a candidate would have to receive a minimum of 6% of votes in a previous election for the same office or a comparable office.
***CONDITION MET see Texas Tribune/University of Texas Poll – Debra Medina over 7% since before October

=================================
The problem… Debra Medina meets the KERA/PBS television station’s own stated criteria.
On the other hand KERA/PBS clearly must be weary of the fact that Gov. Rick Perry has already canceled multiple appearances at forums that sought to include Ron Paul Republican Debra Medina in their programs…
Why is Rick Perry Running from Debra Medina? http://bigjolly.com/texas/163-why-is-rick-perry-running-from-debra-medina.html
Rick Perry Continues to Cancel Debate Appearances w/ Debra Medina http://www.elliscountyobserver.com/?p=10438
Bottom Line – The Governor seems fearful to go on stage with Debra Medina. He has repeatedly canceled the plans of non-partisan event organizers statewide in an effort to “run away” from any event that gives Debra the stage along side of him. This even after the Governor himself committed to be at those events.
The governor is clearly afraid of being “called out” by Debra Medina in front of large audiences; Debra being a living breathing DONT TREAD ON ME / COME AND TAKE IT conservative.
The Governor’s record of attending Bilderberg meetings (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=14c_1181174511&o=1, http://blogs.chron.com/texaspolitics/archives/2007/08/north_american_1.htm, http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/News/Blogs/?oid=oid:505594) for King Makers, supporting the Trans Texas Corridor / NAFTA Super Highway and as a mouth piece for Merck Pharma’s forced Gardacil vaccinations of all teen girls within the State of Texas have left the former Democrat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Perry) and globalist Governor’s so called conservative policies wholly compromised by the highest bidder from within the vast multi-national corporate special interest lobby.
Now many are saying that KERA / PBS is fearful of loosing the seemingly timid Governor Perry and with it their investment in their January 13th debate / forum.
And so the PBS / KERA criteria for excluding Debra Medina seems almost deliberately predicated on pandering to the gun-shy Governor’s wishes such to be sure the incumbent Bush NEO-CON and globalist will not choose to continue his pattern of “running away” from local and state issues.
Understandably PBS / KERA doesn’t want to add their big event to the list of others already subverted by Perry at the last minute.
However without Debra Medina, PBS and KERA TV loose all credibility and the pseudo-debate becomes just another fictitious show in their otherwise dull line-up.
PLEASE BUMP THIS POST AND KEEP IT ON TOP UNTIL DEBRA MEDINA IS INCLUDED IN THE DEBATE
Never Forget… Remember Ed Failor and Iowans for Tax Relief …This is the Texas version of that horrendous episode.
PLEASE BUMP FOR LIBERTY!

all that is lost on the ‘net.Which raises the obvious question of why I’m bothering to comment. But like I said earlier, I like irony!
