Summary of this week’s report:

The conservatives on the Texas Board of Education deserve our thanks for working to make school textbooks accurate and unbiased. It was a long, tough fight, but our side prevailed in one of the major battles for the minds of the school children of Texas. Left wing ideologues were outraged that conservatives stood up and blocked them from imposing even more liberalism on state textbooks, and so were their friends in the mainstream media, but in the end, the onservative bloc was able to keep a lot of liberal bias out of our kids’ social studies textbooks.

Full report:

Over the course of the past several months the national media has been discussing the school textbook wars in Texas. Typically, almost every article or report was actually liberal sermonizing disguised as journalism. In the past few weeks, these stories have reached a hysterical crescendo in the mainstream media, as it became clear that conservatives were going to triumph in our efforts to keep some of the liberal bias out of school textbooks.

There are few things in life that will have more influence on the future than what our children are taught in the classrooms of public schools. Private and home schools are wonderful, and I’m a strong supporter of both, but the number of students in public schools is far, far greater than the numbers enrolled in private and home schooling, combined. Unfortunately, liberals realized this long before conservatives did, and over the decades our kids’ textbooks have been increasingly filled with left-wing propaganda.

Here is the link to the “amendment” which was the legislation that was passed on Sunday, March 21.

==================================================
[From ExposeObama.com, article here.]

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009.* I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated. If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

Help John Dennis, U S Rep CD 8, fire Nancy Pelosi!!
============================================
Dear Fellow Concerned American:

I want to remind you of the scariest words in Washington – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. If that name still causes you to squirm, get angry and grind your teeth, then keep reading.

Like you, I’m tired of waking up every day to see Nancy Pelosi and her cronies work to fulfill the agenda of Barack Obama without regard for how it chips away at our national sovereignty, undermines our national economy and mortgages our children’s future. As a father, I’m worried about how their actions will impact my daughter, your children and future generations of Americans.

My concerns for our nation’s welfare are not strictly based on my affiliation with the Republican Party, but as a father, small business owner and patriotic American. I’m concerned that we continue to lose our rights and liberties daily as Washington politicians, led by Speaker Pelosi, want to force us to submit to socialism.

I’m a proud American who wants our nation to succeed in the vision of our Founding Fathers and refuses to see it continue down this wayward course of a death spiral.

That’s why I’m running for Congress against Nancy Pelosi.

Help Rand Paul (KY Senate) fight for all Americans against the health care travesty!!
=======================================================

Dear friend,

Today is the big day. It’s your chance to show the establishment once and for all that we’re here to take our government back!

As I’ve traveled around Kentucky the last few weeks, I’m sensing an energy that is growing. It started with the Tea Parties. It’s been fueled by the continued of of control spending and lust for power of our elected officials.

The beginning of the end for out of control government is this race. Here in Kentucky, we will take that message and bring it to Washington.

As noted in Politico magazine last week, “A win by Paul…would represent the first true electoral success of the Tea Party movement.” I’m humbled to think that could be true. And I will work every day from now til November to make sure it’s true.

But first, I need YOUR help.

My establishment opponent isn’t running to change Washington, he’s running to be part of Washington. He’s not running to end bailouts, he’s running with campaign cash FROM recipients of bailouts.

Help Adam Kokesh (NM, CD 3) fight for all Americans against the health care travesty!!
================================================

Dear supporter,

Today Barack Obama signed into law the costly government health care bill that takes away your freedom and raises your taxes. The effect of this bill will be to put more Americans out of work, and further increase the cost of health care in this country.

US Rep. Ben Luján (D-NM) voted for the bill, proving once again that he holds no respect for the Constitution, or the individual liberties enshrined within it. With your help, we can hold Luján accountable, and stop the out-of-control spending in Washington that he supports.

As a representative for New Mexico’s Third District, I will hold the line against waste, fraud, and abuse. I will work to restore the free enterprise system that keeps our economy strong. I will stand up for New Mexico small businesses and families by cutting taxes and reducing burdensome legislation.

But I need your help.

Luján receives half of his funding from special interest groups and lobbyists who buy his votes. As someone who upholds the Constitution, I rely on concerned Americans like you to keep our campaign going.

By supporting this campaign, you can help ensure that legislation like the health care takeover never sees the light of day. You can help put our country back on the right track and restore our economy’s health.

Please contribute the most generous amount you can now at our website, and help me stop the Luján-Pelosi-Reid agenda in its tracks.

Freedom is under attack. But with your help, we will fight back.

In Liberty,

Adam Kokesh

P.S. I need your help to make sure out-of-touch bureaucrats like Luján don’t get re-elected in 2010. Please help us fight big government and preserve individual freedom, and make the most generous contribution you can today.

[Source: Sacramento Bee article]

It was every businessperson’s nightmare.

Arriving at Harv’s Metro Car Wash in midtown Wednesday afternoon were two dark-suited IRS agents demanding payment of delinquent taxes. “They were deadly serious, very aggressive, very condescending,” says Harv’s owner, Aaron Zeff.

The really odd part of this: The letter that was hand-delivered to Zeff’s on-site manager showed the amount of money owed to the feds was … 4 cents.

Inexplicably, penalties and taxes accruing on the debt – stemming from the 2006 tax year – were listed as $202.31, leaving Harv’s with an obligation of $202.35.

Zeff, who also owns local parking lots and is the president of the Midtown Business Association, finds the situation a bit comical.

Good news, folks!! Ms. Debra Medina (recent Republican Gubernatorial candidate), the good doctor Ron Paul himself, Mr. David Smith (CD 2, TX), Mr. Guy McLendon (Harris County Libertarian Party Chair), Mr. Pat Dixon (Libertarian Party of Texas Chair) and several other politicos were mentioned in a recent Houston Chronicle story.

Mar 17

Debra Medina discusses her next move after the gubernatorial campaign. She’s got cash left over and big campaign issues to help fight them. Abolition of private property tax, eminent domain abuse and healthcare reform are the big three for Debra.  ”We have real political capital today that we didnt have 13 months ago… ”

If you feel exhausted from calling, emailing, faxing and have any doubt on the impact that your action is having, check out below the “rules of Etiquette” towards the Tea Party just sent by Nancy Pelosi’s assistant to the Democratic Congressmen. This interesting document has been sent to us by Amy Kremer with the Tea Party Express.

Breaking News!!!

As many of you know, activists are once again coming to DC to flood the halls of Congress tomorrow (Tuesday, March 16, 2010). They want to have their voices heard by their elected officials.

This afternoon, the Office of the Assistant to Speaker Nancy Pelosi circulated the following email to Freshman and Sophomore Democratic members of Congress advising them how to deal with all of the visitors to their offices tomorrow.

They know we are coming, so make the most of the visits tomorrow!

RE: Tea Party Etiquette

As many of you have read, tomorrow, Tuesday, March 16, 2010, tens of thousands of conservative and Tea Party activists will be on the Hill as part of what they are dubbing a “Surge Against Obamacare.” Rick Scott, a multimillionaire investor and former hospital executive, is helping to lead the grassroots effort along with a number of other groups on the right like Dick Armey’s Freedom Works. While many of you have met with outspoken activists in your districts in the past, we wanted to remind you of some of the best practices to review with your DC staff:

1. Be prepared. Activists are expected to begin arriving around 9am and they have been given instructions to wait in your office until they can have a meeting. Please have an orderly process and enough staff and interns to welcome what could be a very large number of visitors throughout the day:

· Have staff and/or Member time set-aside to visit with attendees in small groups;

· Ask for extra chairs or seating to be brought to your office or the hall in case there are seniors or disabled visitors that need to be accommodated;

Debra Medina spoke at last night’s HALC Annual Meeting and was greeted with a standing ovation. Interestingly, she approached the microphone carrying crimson colored book bearing a huge swastika. In true Medina fashion, she was fearless in the face of potentially cheap political tricks and proceeded to read from it.

“None of these nine ordinary Germans and even the tenth, thought then or thinks now, that the rights of man (in his own case) were violated or even more than mildly inhibited for reasons of what they then accepted and still accept as National emergency for proclaimed  four weeks after Hitler took office for chancellor.”

The title of the book was called “They thought they were free” by Milton Mayer and it chronicles the rise of Hitler through the eyes of ten German Nazi citizens between the years 1933 and 1945.

Through historical references found within the book, Medina drew parallels with rising 40′s Nazism and today’s political climate. Watch the full video below. (Note: Our apologies in advance for the poor footage quality)
