Please read below for a narrative from HALC member Paul Smith regarding his recent correspondences with U S Rep. Michael McCaul’s office. Rep McCaul needs to go back to 7th grade Government class! What an idiot McCaul is! Maybe *****Joe Petronis***** will run against him again in the primary–and beat him this time and be elected in the General Election!

I recently corresponded with Congressman McCaul on the issue of Obama’s ineligibility to be our POTUS and especially on the forged birth certificate which Obama posted to the White House web site (http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf). His response (below my sig block) was simply unacceptable. In his opening paragraph, McCaul said: “As you know, the Constitution requires that the President of the United States be a naturalized citizen.”
WHAT?!? Are you kidding me? That’s not what the Constitution says! He went on to provide four more lies:
“[I]t is my understanding that Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Federal Courts, and the Republican Governor of Hawaii have certified that the President’s Hawaiian birth certificate is genuine and the President is a United States citizen.”
The FEC has no authority to vet presidential candidates and likely never even saw any documentation.The federal courts have never even heard an eligibility case much less ruled on the merits of the issue.
As a matter of fact, Chief Justice Roberts admitted (with a grin and a chuckle) that they were avoiding that issue.
Hawaii has never verified that any of the three released COLBs were valid documents or contained valid information.
The fact that Obama is a citizen (unverified so far) does NOT make him a natural born citizen (eligible to be the POTUS.)
TSA Groping Gone Wild (“Shout,” by Tears for Fears… appropriate, isn’t it??)
In recent days, it has become clear that the Republican leadership is opposed to passing Rep. David Simpson’s “anti-groping” bill when House Speaker Joe Strauss violated the House rules by declaring a quorum on Friday and not bringing HB 41 up for a vote as scheduled, and Governor Perry publicly pronounced there was “no time” to pass the bill, before being shamed into calling the bill into special session.

Please take the time to let our leadership know we have grown weary of their charade and that it is time to respect and serve the public’s will.

I hope that this outpouring of public opinion will guide your decision in supporting HB41/SB29 as originally drafted and without further amendment.
Texas voters will remain vigilant on this issue and we WILL remember this at the next election.

“You don’t need to see his identification.”
On November 21, 2010, I was allowed to enter the U.S. through an airport security checkpoint without being x-rayed or touched by a TSA officer. This post explains how.

This past Sunday, I was returning from a trip to Europe. I flew from Paris to Cincinnati, landing in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
As I got off my flight, I did all of the things that are normally requested from U.S. citizens returning from abroad. I filled out the customs declarations, confirmed that I hadn’t set foot on any farmland, and answered questions about the chocolates that I had purchased in Switzerland. While I don’t believe that these questions are necessary, I don’t mind answering them if it means some added security. They aren’t particularly intrusive. My passport was stamped, and I moved through customs a happy citizen returning home.
But wait – here was a second line to wait in.
This new line led to a TSA security checkpoint. You see, it is official TSA policy that people (both citizens and non-citizens alike) from international flights are screened as they enter the airport, despite the fact that they have already flown. Even before the new controversial security measures were put in place, I found this practice annoying. But now, as I looked past the 25 people waiting to get into their own country, I saw it: the dreaded Backscatter imaging machine.
Only one day after the people of Texas sent a message to their Texas delegation that they wanted less government, lower taxes and freedom from the bonds of an ever increasing intrusive government, including paying for an unconstitutional federal Health Care Bill, the momentum seems to be gathering to once again impale the homeowner.
Yet the strong rhetoric we heard from Rick Perry, David Dewhurst and others candidates during the elections was that they would “stand up for our 10th Amendment rights”. Read the announcement of this hearing and think about how this fits in with standing up for our Constitutional rights. And think about why only “invited” testimony will be heard. 99% of the time this is from the “stateholders”; that is those that want your money – not the people who will lose their homes if this legislation is enacted.
The only way we are going to keep the leeches from sucking our blood dry is to outlaw property tax in Texas forever. We have begun this process but we need your help. Call committee members and let them know that paying for Obamacare through increased property tax is not acceptable, and tell Republican members to make good on their promise to stand up for our 10th Amendment rights in Texas and to just vote “nay” on any attempt to implement this in our state – much less on the backs of homeowners.
