[This report was filed by Rob Roark of TX Libery Campaign Ex Com Board, Hays County.]
========================================
Just got back in from Fredricksburg from our 2011 State Texas Liberty Campaign Convention.  I wanted to get a summary out for those who attended, and those who could not.

First, a big thanks to Craig Young for all his work on preparations and speakers for the event, Griffin for his work on the By-laws, and to Jim, Dan, Matthew, and Lance, among others from this group, who attended.

First, a little history and talk on what the Texas Liberty Campaign IS. (This is a brief synopsis, in generality, so forgive me any errors…)

In September 2008, at the Ron Paul rally for the Republic, the Campaign for Liberty was announced, with a strong top down structure.  Representatives from each state attended a formation meeting.  Each state was to have a certain time to form a board of directors that could then join the national organization.

Members of the state who attended the rally decided to send representatives to this meeting, then when they got back with the general members, it was decided that Texas would take a different “bottoms-up” approach.

Those who attend and vote will elect a new Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, and will determine what caucuses are formed for the next two years and who will represent them on the Board. We will also consider various proposed bylaws changes which can be viewed at:  https://www.txlc.org/tiki-view_forum.php?forumId=4 .

As many of you know, Debra Medina was pushing very hard for nullification for the state of Texas.  Even though she was not the final, victorious Republican gubernatorial candidate for Texas, she has NOT given up on pushing for nullification and states’ rights for Texas and Texas.  Ms. Medina will continue to fight for Texas and Texans until success is achieved.

You can find the online petion here.

Ms. Debbie McKee of the Texas Liberty Campaign, with which the Houston Area Liberty Campaign is affiliated, is on a campaign to also help out where the Medina campaign was cut off in its fight.  Ms. McKee is personally delivering printed out petitions on Friday, July 23rd and would like some company!  The more the merrier!  Please pass this along, especially to folks around Austin!

We Texans (Ms. Medina’s gubernatorial campaign) will host our inaugural Pillars of Liberty Symposium at the Radisson Inn & Suites in Austin on July 24. The event will address strategies for governing and campaigning for liberty. New York Times bestselling author, Thomas Woods; as well as Texas political stars: Royal Masset, Peter Johnston, Penny Langford Freeman and Jean McIver will be on hand to lead the discussions.

And since we love to break bread together, Dr. Woods will serve as our keynote speaker at the We Texans banquet that evening.

[Edited for timeliness]
This is a publication of The Texas Liberty Campaign, the organization with the most potential to return America to the Constitutional Republic in which we all believe.

This newsletter is designed to allow the reader to delve into subjects further and to share their insight on the topic.

Momentum for the Liberty Movement in Texas
Mike Barre – Republican Justice of the Peace Candidate – Travis County – In a race defined by personal responsibility and the Constitution, Mike won in the Primary thanks to hard work, working with the Republican Party, the Tea Party, and 912 Project, and the issues facing Austin.

Karl Voigtsberger – Republican County Commissioner Candidate – Collin County – Karl accomplished his goals simply by running for County Commissioner, in a race that brought fiscally responsible governance and the likely halt to development of an unneeded bridge and Intermodal Transportation facility in his area.

Debbie McKee – Republican Precinct Chair Candidate – Hunt County – Debbie found herself challenging the long-time incumbent in her new precinct for Hunt County Chair and found the entrenched Republicans to be fierce opponents.

Debra Medina – Republican Governor Candidate – Wharton County – Most of us worked hard on this race and we can be proud that a quarter of a million Texans realized that real change in the form of fiscal responsibility and limited government is needed. We will all continue to work hard to ensure that property ownership and gun ownership, the essential elements of freedom, will be protected.
