Well, the video is a few years old but still VERY relevant and informative….it would be interesting if the videographer of this video could locate the woman in the video and ask her for her impression of the BHO “presidency.” Hmmmm…

Robert Pape, a University of Chicago political science professor and former Air Force lecturer, will present findings on Capitol Hill on Tuesday that argue that the majority of suicide terrorism around the world since 1980 has had a common cause: military occupation.

Pape and his team of researchers draw on data produced by a six-year study of suicide terrorist attacks around the world that was partially funded by the Defense Department’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency. They have compiled the terrorism statistics in a publicly available database comprising some 10,000 records on some 2,200 suicide terrorism attacks, dating back to the first suicide terrorism attack of modern times — the 1983 truck bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, which killed 241 U.S. Marines.

“We have lots of evidence now that when you put the foreign military presence in, it triggers suicide terrorism campaigns, … and that when the foreign forces leave, it takes away almost 100 percent of the terrorist campaign,” Pape said in an interview last week on his findings. While I’ve never been a big fan of the Bush presidential family, it is definitely striking to see how the troops treated Bush Junior versus how they treated Obama.  Maybe it has alot to do with Obama pissing on the true patriots of America, her troops in combat and those returning veterans.  Even if you’re against the wars themselves, you have to admit that even on his/her worst day, the “average” American soldier has ten times more patriotism in his/her little pinkie than Commie-in-Chief Obama could ever try to muster.

Just look at these pics …  [the video that originally ran in this story was pulled from You Tube due to copyright violations]

Oh, I spoke too soon. I located a new source of the same video footage, just it was just renamed.

We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.

I watched the flag pass by one day, it fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine saluted it, and then he stood at ease…

I looked at him in uniform so young, so tall, so proud, with hair cut square and eyes alert he’d stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him had fallen through the years. How many died on foreign soil how many mothers’ tears?

How many pilots’ planes shot down? How many died at sea. How many foxholes were soldiers’ graves? No, freedom isn’t free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night, when everything was still. I listened to the bugler play and felt a sudden chill.

WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad — including two Reuters news staff.

Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded.

The military did not reveal how the Reuters staff were killed, and stated that they did not know how the children were injured.

After demands by Reuters, the incident was investigated and the U.S. military concluded that the actions of the soldiers were in accordance with the law of armed conflict and its own “Rules of Engagement”.

Consequently, WikiLeaks has released the classified Rules of Engagement for 2006, 2007 and 2008, revealing these rules before, during, and after the killings.

WikiLeaks has released both the original 38 minutes video and a shorter version with an initial analysis. Subtitles have been added to both versions from the radio transmissions.

WikiLeaks obtained this video as well as supporting documents from a number of military whistleblowers. WikiLeaks goes to great lengths to verify the authenticity of the information it receives. We have analyzed the information about this incident from a variety of source material. We have spoken to witnesses and journalists directly involved in the incident.

WikiLeaks wants to ensure that all the leaked information it receives gets the attention it deserves. In this particular case, some of the people killed were journalists that were simply doing their jobs: putting their lives at risk in order to report on war. Iraq is a very dangerous place for journalists: from 2003- 2009, 139 journalists were killed while doing their work.

The Marine stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

‘Step forward now, Marine,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?’

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
‘No, Lord, I guess I ain’t.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can’t always be a saint.

I’ve had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I’ve been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn’t mine to keep…
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

afghan-troopsWashington D.C., October 13, 2009 – In an unannounced move, the Administration has authorized the deployment of 15,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. This deployment is in addition to the 21,000 troops previously announced by President Obama in March of this year.  The move will bring the total amount of U.S. forces deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq to levels greater than the peak of the Iraq surge.

“Candidate Obama ran a campaign highly critical of Bush administration foreign policy and promised to bring troops home from overseas. But President Obama seems to be working from the same playbook as the Bush Administration, and his campaign promises seem to be ringing empty,” said John Tate, President of Campaign for Liberty. “Instead of winding things down, this president seems intent on increasing our involvement in this and other foreign adventures.”

In following a protocol similar to former President Bush’s Defense department, President Obama did not mention plans to deploy the additional troops during his initial declaration of troop increases.  These increases, as it turns out, are part of a larger plan to reach a 68,000 troop force by the end of the year.  All this comes as the administration continues to weigh whether to deploy the 40,000 troops requested by the U.S. commander in Afghanistan.
