[from Henry H, We Texans]
Do you remember... a little revolution we all started four years ago?
A grassfire, no less violent than the ones being experienced in Texas and Arizona, blew in from the grassroots across America when a little man in congress had the audacity to penetrate the corridors of power and announce himself as a candidate for president of the United States.
Who was this man? What made him believe he could infiltrate the one-party system we know as the DEM/REP Party? Why would anyone care? Why would anyone think this man could draw, not from the lobbyists and special interests, but from ordinary Joes and Janes a staggering $5 million in donations…IN ONE DAY? What kind of paradigm shift was occurring when ordinary citizens were being drawn to a message of, dare I say it…Freedom, Prosperity and PEACE?
Do we remember the exhilarating moment when we knew we were no longer alone in our feeling that something was very wrong with our country? Remember the awe which we felt when this man expressed in stuttering terms that which was wrong and what could be done to correct the ills of a nation? Do you remember the feeling of empowerment we felt as we said to ourselves, “who is this man who speaks so ineloquently and yet dares to say that which we feel?” Do you remember telling yourselves we must support such an intruder in the political arena? Do you remember putting aside the feeling of such an insurmountable task and saying, “I will become a part of this revolution because it’s RIGHT and I must stand in the gap and make my voice heard?”
